The Beverley Arms has been awarded five star silver inn status following its first inspection by the AA.
It has also received a dinner award in recognition of the impressive standard of the food.
A mystery inspector assessed all aspects of the boutique hotel during an overnight stay, including the quality of cleanliness, hospitality, bedrooms and bathrooms.
General Manager Chantell Dickinson said: “We couldn’t have wished for a better first inspection and I’m so proud of all the team.
“We have a fantastic property which everyone comments about due to the transformation that has taken place, and this AA award shows we are putting the right standards in place to ensure our quality of our hospitality matches the quality of our refurbishment.”
All properties within the House of Daniel Thwaites are inspected annually by the AA as a way of independently measuring quality.
In their report about the Beverley Arms, the AA inspector said: “The dramatic development of the property has been impressively completed, compliments to the company on the standards achieved and, on the quality, and style here, which has delivered a versatile and welcome property to the town.
“inspection results were extremely impressive. Undoubtedly the physical product has superb style and excellent quality throughout.
“Compliments to Heather, Jade and the housekeeping team, 100% scores here and truly excellent cleanliness throughout the Inn, well done all. Likewise, Darren and the brigade, a diverse and extensive offering with notable quality, provenance and cookery skills, an AA Dinner Award achieved.
“Inspection results reflect the overall standards here, with a Five Star Inn classification, the attendant high scoring also enables a Silver Award, well done all, future success seems assured at this splendid establishment.”
