The team at Aztec Hotel and Spa is celebrating an incredibly successful charity fundraising year. The hotel staff and guests, through a series of events and challenges, have raised an astounding £10,000 for two very worthy causes – the Teenage Cancer Trust and St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol.
The annual Summer Ball saw 100 guests enjoy a spectacular evening at the hotel, where a total of £4,000 was raised. Together with a raffle and silent auction, with prizes kindly donated by local companies, the evening included a delicious three course dinner, live music and a disco.
The Ball followed on from the success of a restaurant swap-over, where the kitchen and restaurant teams swapped roles for the night. All dining bills were donated to the funds, totalling over £2,500.
To really show their dedication to supporting the charities, members of the team have pushed themselves to the limits in two great challenges.
Firstly, two of the team took part in a local 10k run, while another 10 members of staff donned their walking boots for an expedition to take on Mount Snowdon. These tired feet added an amazing £1,500 to the final total.
Other events have included the Christmas Market at Aztec Hotel, where local craft stalls and suppliers offered great gift ideas to visitors, as well as a delicious Bake Sale and Car Wash.
In addition to the events, the hotel has donated a percentage of sales from the Gin of the Month and Dish of the Month offers, both of which have helped to reach the grand total.
Gareth Ireland, general manager at Aztec Hotel and Spa, said: “I am so proud of how hard the team have worked to raise funds for these two very worthy causes. We have all really enjoyed the challenges and events, and now with the new restaurant, The Curious Kitchen, we look forward to continuing this fundraising success.”
