New look for Fleece

The Fleece in Cirencester has completed a £600,000 refurbishment that has transformed its bedrooms and restaurant.

A new, chic interior design has been introduced, with a boutique feel and bright splashes of colour.

The work has included upgrading all 28 bedrooms, as well as a new look lounge and restaurant and the creation of a new lobby.

General Manager Phil Mehrtens said: “The design is really striking and has added so much character.

It feels like a new property, it is so different.

“Feedback has been really good, some of our bedrooms have got new features like rolltop baths and mini fridges and others are unique in their style. It’s made such a difference to the experience people are receiving.”

Work started in October and took four months to complete.

Phil added: “This is the final stage of a major refurbishment project, which has already seen improvements to the ground floor, when we redesigned the bar and private dining areas.

“Overall £1.3m has been spent updating every aspect of the inn.

“It’s great to see the company making such an investment in Cirencester.”

The Fleece is part of the House of Daniel Thwaites collective, a family business based in Lancashire with 212 years history. It has 21 properties across the country that are all unique in style and character.
